Hey Guys, it's been a while since I had a good rant, I mean posted an article. I've had thoughts of a multitude of different topics to talk about, but never found the time to JUST DO IT. (that would make a great logo, doncha think?? hehehe) I know, a lazy bugger, that's me, no excuse, just the way I am.
Isn't that one of THE most used rationalizations.. "That's just me, that's how I am." Wow, true but crap at the same time. Being lazy is one of my less attractive personality traits, but it is one, just the same. But I suppose I CHOOSE to let it remain that way, use it for an excuse when it suits me.. "Sorry Miss, I didn't do my homework because I'm lazy." That wouldn't have gone over well in primary school, would it? Better to lie and say the dog ate it. hehehe But to say I haven't written to my friends in Chicago because I'm lazy, would be an accurate statement as well. And it would also be a good excuse, because my friends know I am a LAZY BUGGER!!!!! hehehehe
Now that I've gotten over that one, let's move on to more seasonal topics. The HO HO HO. Ok, this is just gotten crazy. Too many Ho's and not enough laughing happening around the world. It's the bloody holiday season for goodness sake. It's whatever you believe it to be.. Not what the guys next door wants you to celebrate, it's yours. Yours and your family's.
I inadvertently got stuck in the middle of a group discussion on one the Yahoo groups. I had posted an advertisement for my newest free embroidery designs, as I do every week. I whipped up this really cute alphabet called St Nicholas. You can find it on my Alphas Page. (I had to get a plug in there!!) I try, as all the folk who also advertise on these groups, try to use catchy little phrases in the subject line to attract attention. It's what advertising is all about, is it not? I figured Ho Ho Ho would go well with St Nick and all that, so what was the subject line?? "
HO*HO*HO* Free St Nick Alpha at CinDes...". I thought it was cute and catchy
.
After I had posted to AD to a bunch of groups, I noticed that the HO HO HO phrase had also been used by another advertiser. Well, between all the Ho's.. the discussion about being PC and Ho's and Christmas and everything heated up quickly and as these things tend to get, people kept adding fuel to the fire. Finally the moderators stepped in and squashed the topic after about 15 posts.
I suppose the point to my story here is, all of these posts were replies to the first post which just happened to be my original AD. It was from a nice lady thanking me for the free designs, and added a small comment about the whole politically correct (PC) thing, which opened the flood gates.
Now I'm not sure if all this exposure of the CinDes name is good or bad. I was shocked to see all those replies to my AD. At first, I was like, "oh yeah!!" Then reality hit hard when I read the first one and wasn't about my designs at all, just about Ho's. I was deflated like a balloon 3 days after the party, all squishy and wrinkly. ( I have GOT to stop looking in that dam mirror!) Then I began to think like a cheap starlet's who just saw a bad photo of herself splashed all over the cover of the tabloids.. Any press is good press, am I right?? I may be known as CinDes, the Ho Ho Ho designer, but I will be remembered!!
I hope I have offended everyone with my blog today.

Also, I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and a Happy Merry Whatever... Remember to spend some time with your loved ones if you lucky enough and JUST HAVE FUN where ever you may land up on the day!!! I'll probably have something else to say before Christmas, but in case I win lotto and jet off to the coast for the holidays, I thought I'd take the opportunity to wish you all the best.
Cheers!
cindy...
