Has it really been 6 months??

Was It Just Christmas??

Is it just me or does it not feel like Christmas has just come and gone?? Man, I don't know if it's getting older that makes time go by so bloody fast or if it really does fly?? I place a lot of the blame for the way I feel on being in a sub tropical climate. Maybe if I were back in good old Chi Town, freezin' my kiester off in the cold January winds off Lake Michigan, I might still feel some of that holiday magic. I have to keep reminding myself of the date. It's only mid January for goodness sake!

Oh well, it's back to business for everyone I suppose. My job has been outrageously crazy the past couple weeks. Being in the health care profession and specializing in clients multiple special needs, it's been over the top!! Wow... I thank my lucky stars for the terrific team of ...<< MORE >>

Hope you all are well and in the final stretch for that Christmas light at the end of long, busy and stressful tunnel.. For some of it's been shear hell on earth, running here, there and everywhere for that perfect gift for Uncle Bob and Cousin Ester's grandnephew Arnold, who you've never met, but feel you need to buy  him something little.. Credit cards maxed out to the hilt and you still have more gifts to buy. Praying for it all to be over!!! 


Some of us have loved every minute of the preparation and excitement, the hope of what Christmas will bring.. Getting happiness and satisfaction from each and every moment, knowing that on Christmas morning, when all your loved ones open the special gifts you have picked or made especially with them in mind. 'tis the season...

Hey Guys, it's been a while since I had a good rant, I mean posted an article. I've had thoughts of a multitude of different topics to talk about, but never found the time to JUST DO IT. (that would make a great logo, doncha think?? hehehe) I know, a lazy bugger, that's me, no excuse, just the way I am.

Isn't that one of THE most used rationalizations.. "That's just me, that's how I am." Wow, true but crap at the same time. Being lazy is one of my less attractive personality traits, but it is one, just the same. But I suppose I CHOOSE to let it remain that way, use it for an excuse when it suits me.. "Sorry Miss, I didn't do my homework because I'm lazy." That wouldn't have gone over well in primary school, would it? Better to lie and say the dog ate it. hehehe  But to say I haven't written to my friends in Chicago because I'm lazy, would be an accurate statement as well. And it would also be a good excuse, because my friends know I am a LAZY BUGGER!!!!! hehehehe

Now that I've gotten over that one, let's move on to more seasonal topics. The HO HO HO.  Ok, this is just gotten crazy. Too many Ho's and not enough laughing happening around the world. It's the bloody holiday season for goodness sake. It's whatever you believe it to be.. Not what the guys next door wants you to celebrate, it's yours. Yours and your family's.



I inadvertently got stuck in the middle of a group discussion on one the Yahoo groups. I had posted an advertisement for my newest free embroidery designs, as I do every week. I whipped up this really cute alphabet called St Nicholas. You can find it on my Alphas Page. (I had to get a plug in there!!) I try, as all the folk who also advertise on these groups, try to use catchy little phrases in the subject line to attract attention. It's what advertising is all about, is it not? I figured Ho Ho Ho would go well with St Nick and all that, so what was the subject line?? "HO*HO*HO* Free St Nick Alpha at CinDes...". I thought it was cute and catchy.

After I had posted to AD to a bunch of groups, I noticed that the HO HO HO phrase had also been used by another advertiser. Well, between all the Ho's.. the discussion about being PC and Ho's and Christmas and everything heated up quickly and as these things tend to get, people kept adding fuel to the fire. Finally the moderators stepped in and squashed the topic after about 15 posts.

I suppose the point to my story here is, all of these posts were replies to the first post which just happened to be my original AD. It was from a nice lady thanking me for the free designs, and added a small comment about the whole politically correct (PC) thing, which opened the flood gates.

Now I'm not sure if all this exposure of the CinDes name is good or bad. I was shocked to see all those replies to my AD. At first, I was like, "oh yeah!!" Then reality hit hard when I read the first one and wasn't about my designs at all, just about Ho's. I was deflated like a balloon 3 days after the party, all squishy and wrinkly. ( I have GOT to stop looking in that dam mirror!) Then I began to think like a cheap starlet's who just saw a bad photo of herself splashed all over the cover of the tabloids.. Any press is good press, am I right?? I may be known as CinDes, the Ho Ho Ho designer, but I will be remembered!!

I hope I have offended everyone with my blog today. Also, I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and a Happy Merry Whatever... Remember to spend some time with your loved ones if you lucky enough and JUST HAVE FUN where ever you may land up on the day!!! I'll probably have something else to say before Christmas, but in case I win lotto and jet off to the coast for the holidays, I thought I'd take the opportunity to wish you all the best.

On To Bigger and Better Things...




Have you ever heard the expression "All good things must come to an end..." ? Doesn't that suck? I mean.. why can't all BAD things come to an end?? I'll bet you would agree with me there. But the good things, they should last as long as you need them to.

Hmmm... maybe they do last only as long as we need, but not necessarily as long as we want.. Reminds me of a great old Dave Matthews Band (DMB )

How Do People Do It???

Isn't it just amazing how some wonderfully talented people have the ability to create amazing works of art, whether it be an oil painting or sculpture, a love song or symphony, a landscaped garden or a perfectly colour coordinated home. If you stop and think about it, we all have some special talent that we may or may not develop to it's potential. I know a few people who have a knack for being a jerk and getting on my last nerve!! hehehe Gladly they aren't as prevalent as others with more pleasing specialty, like cooking... aaahhh food...oops, excuse my drool...lol

I Hope You Like The Letter "O" !!!


You'd think after all this time doing HTML, now I'm talking years.. I'd be able to get things right the first time..


But alas, to err is human... you know the rest! hehehe

Thanks to everyone who kindly sent emails to alert me to my mistake with the Halloween Font. Personally, I like the letter "O", can't get enough.. I say Oh all the time, I'll bet you do too!! So it's fitting that I should be so generous giving away all those O's to those with less O's than myself.. Except Oprah, I'll bet she has PLENTY of "O's"  I can imagine her sharing hers also, just look under your seat.. Find any "O's" there??

OK, I'm letting myself get a bit over the top.. But, Oh well... hehehehe

Part3 - Settled Back In At Home...

Well, the Traveling CinDes Embroidery Designs Website is definitely going to sit tight for a while.

How quickly the time spent away, turned into seemingly long past memories. I'd swear it has been ages since I said so long to my family and g'day to my DH, but it hasn't even been a month yet!! To quote my favourite character "Frank Barone" on the TV show "Everyone Loves Raymond"... Holy crap!!

Time flies so fast when you're having fun and getting old. (Sniff, sniff... anyone got a tissue??) I remember as a kid, summer vacation seemed to last a year. You get a bit older, then as a teenager, it seemed after the 4th of July, the rest of the summer just flew by. Well then once you started working, there was NO summer vacation!! Hope all is well.. Our little group has grown to 135 !! I don't know about YOU, but I'm as happy as a pig in... pig stuff!!! hehehe


I've added D & E to the Preciosa Font. Also did up a couple of Prim designs, using Cheryl Seslar Graphics.. I just adore her style.. So lovely to digitise too.. Any excuse to do some spooky prim Halloween designs!!   Geez, that's one of the things I miss here in Australia.. no Halloween.. bummer... oh well!

Because I used frequent flier miles to purchase my ticket, I had little say over connecting flights.


When my itinerary showed my return trip was from Chicago to LA via Dallas, I thought no big deal, I’ve never been to Dallas, could be interesting.. So on the day, I tearfully say so long to Mom and the kids, and got on the plane to Dallas Fort Worth. When our plane arrived, there was a light rain falling.
